Press release

From 25 to 27 October 2022, the 7th International Exhibition of Industrial Boiler, Heat Exchange and Power Generation Equipment - Heat&Power 2022 took place in Crocus Expo IEC, presenting current technological achievements for heat and power enterprises.

Exclusive equipment at Heat&Power-2022 in the context of the import substitution trend
The exhibition was supported by the State Duma Energy Committee, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, and specialised associations. The partners of the business programme were: NAEVI NP, Arctic Development Project Office (PORA), Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, EnergoInnovation Association, ERBA-ECO, Association of Water Companies (AWC).

Exposition: exclusive technological solutions for the heat and power industry under conditions of import substitution

Heat&Power-2022 exhibitors demonstrated modern industrial equipment for boiler houses in one hall with the International Exhibition of Industrial Pumps, Compressors and Pipe Fittings, Drives and Motors PCVExpo-2022. The format of the combined exposition allowed to increase the number of potential customers for the exhibitors of each exhibition, and visitors - to get acquainted with a wide range of innovative technological solutions for enterprises of various industries: mechanical engineering, instrumentation, construction, chemical and petrochemical production, distributed generation of heat and electricity, water and heat supply and others.

The largest manufacturers and suppliers of industrial equipment took part in Heat&Power-2022: Aguna, Barnaul Boiler Plant, Teploobmen, Aksion-Holding, KAMA-Energetika, Nizhny Novgorod Heat Exchange Equipment Plant, Pallant, SibArmaGas, AMZ Gazenergomash, Vodoteplomontazh, Dymokhodnykh sistemy Prime, Korulsnab, Nevsky, GK ESCM, Zeus-Pipeline, PSM, Karos, Gas Machine Plant, Kuzbassenergoprommash and others.

The activities of most of the participating companies are aimed at the production of import-substituting products. The relevance of this direction was confirmed by the high interest in Russian materials and equipment of Heat&Power-2022 exhibitors, which will contribute to the growth of domestic production.

"There were a lot of visitors at the exhibition, and the trend towards import substitution was manifested not in words, but in deeds: our customers were actively interested in Russian products. In terms of audience coverage and brand recognition, this is favourable for us," said Ilya Makarov, Deputy Head of the Process Equipment Supply Department at ESCM.

For the third time, the multi-profile corporation AK ESCM participated in Heat&Power. This year the company presented its latest achievements in the field of heat exchange technologies: plate and intensified shell-and-tube heat exchangers, as well as heat exchangers for special purposes.

The products attracted the attention of representatives of municipal and industrial heat power enterprises, EPC-contractors, trade organisations, oil and gas sector enterprises, as well as the main customers of ESCM - companies belonging to the division of Rosatom State Corporation. The greatest interest of the visiting audience was aroused by the heat exchanger plates of own forging, samples of plate heat exchanger and shell-and-tube heat exchanger.

"The commercial efficiency of participation will be measured by the number of real customers from the exhibition. According to the results of three exhibition days we have received more than 50 target contacts. I think 1/3 of them are hot, the rest are new. This is a very good result for us. We can say that Heat&Power is the only specialised exhibition, participation in which always justifies our expectations," summarised Ilya Makarov, Deputy Head of Technical Equipment Supply Department of ESCM.

PSM, a system-forming company in the field of power engineering in Russia, brought a gas-piston power plant based on the Boduin engine to Heat&Power as a highly competitive product in the field of gas-piston equipment.

The company set itself mainly image objectives for its participation in the exhibition, so it did not expect a large number of customers, but a competitive environment represented by a multitude of companies in the three thematic blocks of Heat&Power-2022. "One of our strategic tasks at Heat&Power is to communicate with the market, the second is to show that the company is doing well: it is developing, growing and participating in exhibitions," explained PSM CEO Andrey Medvedev. - "That's why for me personally, as the General Director of the company, Heat&Power is an opportunity to hold business meetings with partners, competitors and major suppliers on one platform in the most efficient way. We planned about 12 meetings, half of them took place on the 2nd day. We can say that we solved our image tasks, but we did not face any commercial ones. Given the high efficiency of our participation at Heat&Power-2022, we are ready literally now to discuss the stand construction for next year and recommend the exhibition to specialised companies".

Among the participants who exhibited their products at Heat&Power for the first time was Zeus-Pipeline, a company that produces technological equipment for cleaning thermal units from scale and solid deposits. At the company's stand it was possible to evaluate the work of the electrohydroimpulse unit. Zeus-Pipeline presented the unit as a modernised, efficient solution with a new industrial design.

The exhibited equipment aroused interest of representatives of the agricultural industry, healthcare industry, as well as designers and builders of thermal power facilities. In the context of the import substitution trend, the electrohydropulse unit is more than demanded by the Russian consumer, as it is not only made in Russia, but also consists of almost 100% domestic components.

Participation in Heat&Power-2022 was commented by Vladimir Stegniy, Marketing Director of Zeus-Pipeline: "Expectations from the exhibition have been met. We are following the nominal scenario and did not come to the exhibition in vain, as in the chain of interaction with the client, the exhibition is a short way to make a deal. This is our first time at Heat&Power, but we have already set a record compared to participation in other exhibitions: 250-300 contacts. Out of them, if there are 5-6 good contracts, it will pay off the participation, and the company will be in the plus. Next year I am ready to participate, as winning one exhibition is not the final point, but just a new state, a new stage."

Record interest of the visitor audience

Heat&Power exhibition was visited by 4,140 specialists, of which 3,224 were visitors of Heat&Power exhibition of industrial boiler, heat-exchange and power-generating equipment and PCVExpo exhibition of industrial pumps, compressors and pipeline valves, drives and motors, 916 were specialists who came with tickets from other industrial equipment exhibitions held simultaneously with Heat&Power (Testing&Control, NDT Russia, ExpoCoating Russia, GasSuf). The number of new visitors totalled 63%.

Compared to 2021, the number of targeted visitors to Heat&Power increased by 38%, the number of visitors per 1 exhibiting company increased by 130%. This indicator significantly exceeded not only the result of the previous year, but also became a record for the last 5 years, demonstrating an increase in relation to the pre-pandemic (2019) year by 23%.

Business programme: problematic issues of increasing the economic efficiency of distributed generation

This year, all three days of the Heat&Power-2022 business programme were dedicated to the issue of energy efficiency improvement, during which recognised experts from the power and heat industry discussed the role of RES-based small-scale power generation in the development of Russia's distributed energy sector; energy transition with regard to energy security; digital and intelligent systems in power generation and energy supply; regulatory and technical basis for the application of energy storage systems and other topical aspects of energy supply.

Heat&Power-2022 conference platform hosted 8 events of the business programme — strategic sessions. More than 60 representatives of industry leading companies and research institutes and laboratories acted as speakers.

Due to the record interest of visitors to the products at Heat&Power-2022, 98% of exhibitors noted high commercial efficiency from participation in the exhibition and booked a stand for the next year: Zeus Pipeline, Thermorobot, Forsel, Heat Transfer, Karos, Aguna, Kurs and other companies.
