03 June 2025 News This year, for the first time, the independent industry award will be presented in seven nominations, and the Expert Council will be supplemented with new names. The main goal of the competition, organised by the Small Energy Association and Business Russia, remains unchanged — to identify the best industry projects of the year, to create a single platform for sharing experience, and to help increase the potential of the country's scientific and engineering community. The International Award “Small Energy — Great Achievements” has been organised since 2013 and is currently the leading platform for presenting the most significant achievements in one of the most dynamically developing industries — distributed and renewable energy. The competition is organised by the Small Energy Association and the All-Russian Public Organisation ‘Business Russia’. This year, for the first time, the independent industry award will be presented in seven categories: "Best project in the field of small distributed energy up to 5 MW"; "Best project in the field of small distributed energy over 5 MW"; "Best project in the field of renewable energy, storage and electric transport"; "Domestic development in the field of small distributed energy"; "Investor of the Year in the field of small distributed energy"; "Research and development in the field of small distributed energy"; "Best information and information centre in the field of small distributed energy". Companies and organisations located in Russia and friendly countries, operating in the field of small distributed and renewable energy, as well as research institutes and organisations conducting applied research and development in this field, are invited to participate in the Award. For the first time in the history of the Award, a seventh nomination was established for information projects and events covering key topics of small and renewable energy. It is open to journalistic materials, blogs, telegram channels, webinars, conferences and other initiatives that popularise the industry in Russia and abroad. The project submitted for the award must be implemented in the period from 2024 to 2025. Participation in the award is free of charge. The winners will traditionally be determined by independent voting of the members of the International Expert Council - its composition has been expanded this year. It includes leading experts and analysts in the field of small-scale power generation, representatives of the business community, heads of major energy companies, and leading Russian and foreign scientists. As Maxim Zagornov, the project organiser, President of the Small Power Association, member of the General Council, Chairman of the Small Generation Subcommittee of Business Russia, noted, “Small Energy — Great Achievements” is not just an Award. "It is a professional community, an exchange of experience and recognition of those who develop the industry and move it forward with their decisions. Every year together we make an invaluable contribution to the sustainable future of our country," the expert shared. It should be noted that over 11 years, 672 companies and organisations from 12 countries took part in the contest. 43 of them became winners and owners of the main award — the Golden Lightning statuette. Online acceptance of applications for the XI International Award “Small Energy — Great Achievements” has started on the website of the Small Energy Association and will last until 1 November. Operational coverage of the project will be carried out in the Telegram channel of the Small Energy Association.
