Aggreko Eurasia: 500 projects, 875 MW of capacity, and new solutions for distributed generation

29 September 2025
Aggreko Eurasia, a participant in the Heat&Power-2025 exhibition, shared its experience and prospects in the temporary power supply and distributed generation market. In an open interview, Business Development Manager Vyacheslav Martynov discussed key trends, industry challenges, and completed projects.

Aggreko Eurasia has been operating in Russia since 2008 and has completed over 500 projects with a total capacity of 875 MW. The company plans to reach 1 GW of installed capacity in the near future. Its primary customers are oil and gas companies, but increasingly, its solutions are being implemented in metallurgy, mining, agriculture, and other energy-intensive industries.

Key areas of work:
  • Internal generation as an alternative to grid connection. For many companies, this is a more reliable and cost-effective option, especially in areas with limited grid infrastructure availability.
  • Gas piston generators for greenhouses. Demand is growing: existing equipment has reached the end of its service life, and companies are seeking modern solutions.
  • Comprehensive projects for remote locations. Aggreko Eurasia offers special "winter packages" for operation in the Far North and isolated areas.
  • Environmentally friendly and efficient. 99.9% of energy centers for the oil and gas industry operate on associated petroleum gas, which is used to generate electricity instead of flaring.
  • Customized projects. The company is ready to develop unique solutions: from energy storage systems for load balancing to complex installations for collecting CO₂ from exhaust gases and using it in greenhouses.

Production base in Tyumen

Since 2014, Aggreko Eurasia's production area and volume in Tyumen have increased significantly. Today, energy centers are assembled here, reducing project costs and speeding up facility startup. Currently, 60 energy centers have been assembled, 50 of which are already successfully operating at customer sites.

After 2022, the need arose to replace equipment from companies that had left the Russian market. Specialists undertook extensive selection work and settled on megawatt motors from Weichai, formerly the French Badouin.

The company is actively implementing domestic solutions: for example, an engine from the Kolomensky Plant (TMH Transmash Holding) was packaged for Gazprom Neft. It is currently undergoing testing at one of the oil fields.

Development Prospects

Aggreco Eurasia plans to further expand its range of standard solutions, introduce 1.5 MW motors in existing form factors for compact placement at customer sites, and continue developing its production facility in Tyumen. The main focus is on customer focus and a willingness to develop solutions tailored to specific company needs.
