Webinar recording: "Integration of Energy Storage Systems with Gas Piston Units: China's Experience and Application in Russia"

09 December 2025
In recent years, China has developed one of the most advanced models for integrating energy storage systems (ESS) with gas piston power plants. These solutions are already being used at hundreds of facilities and demonstrate proven economic benefits. For Russian companies, this experience is of practical value and can be adapted to current conditions.

The webinar was held with the participation of Andrey Danilyuk, an engineer at DVK-Electro. The specialists examined how hybrid "gas turbine + ESS" systems operate, the tasks they solve, and which elements of Chinese experience are applicable to Russian projects.

Key topics of the webinar:
Reasons for China's leadership in the development of ESS in the gas piston power industry.
— Key applications of hybrid systems: virtual power plants, microgrids, cogeneration.
— Practical scenarios: peak balancing, frequency regulation, demand response, coal-fired power generation substitution.
— Effects of hybridization: reduced gas consumption, increased equipment lifespan, and improved operating stability.
— Key risks and limitations: cost, management, and safety issues.
— Analysis of hybrid power plant operating algorithms.

At the end of the webinar, experts answered questions from the audience and presented practical recommendations for integrating SES into Russian projects.
