05 June 2019 News Nizhnekamsk CHP LLC (a member of TATNEFT Group since 2010) has been included in the federal program for the modernization of power generation facilities using the DPM-stroke scheme with a project to install a gas turbine. The project envisages the construction of a gas turbine of domestic production with a capacity of 155 megawatts with a waste heat boiler. Subsequently, this will allow decommissioning of the existing steam turbine PT-135/165, which has been used up. As a result of the upgrade, the increase in installed capacity will be 20 megawatts. The transition to the combined-cycle technology will reduce the cost of electricity generated. The project of modernization of Nizhnekamsk CHP LLC was developed in accordance with the concept of modernization of thermal power plants of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, approved by the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 43 of January 25, 2019. The project fully complies with the requirements of the Government of Russia on the localization of equipment production and the import substitution program. The use of a domestic gas turbine will significantly reduce the cost of building and operating a gas turbine plant. Preliminary feasibility study of the project has been developed. Completion of construction is planned in 2024. FOR REFERENCE: Nizhnekamskaya CHP LLC was commissioned in early 1980. The station is a supplier of electrical and heat energy for enterprises and the social sphere of Nizhnekamsk. The station is constantly working to modernize the existing equipment with the introduction of new technologies. In 2015-2016, a project was implemented at the CHP that enabled the station to increase its installed electrical capacity from 380 to 724 MW by installing two low-potential K-110 turbine-fired turbines. At the end of 2018, the generation of electricity at CHP plants amounted to 1 167 million kilowatt-hours, thermal energy - three and a half million gigacalories.
